Why can't I just be naturally scrawny? I don't get it. I'm the type of person who doesn't feel full after a large meal. Put more food in front of me and it will get eaten. Some people, and I've witnessed it, have the wherewithal to eat part of what's on their plate and then, get this, decide that enough is enough and stop eating. What the @#$%?! It's inconceivable!
For despite how interesting the conversation, irregardless of the texture/color/flavor/price, even if the plane is going down in the back of my mind I am feverishly thinking about what is left uneaten. After all, it must get eaten. Sometimes not just what is on my plate, but what is left on the stove as well. I have a deep-seated primal urge to gorge myself until everything that I am aware of is gone. And then take a nap. I was meant to be a lion...lazing about until work had to be done through sheer hunger, some short burts of speed, feasting until sated and then another nap. Rinse and repeat.
Nonetheless, this simpering preamble is public notice of YAD (Yet Another Diet) and I've decided to launch this one by fasting today. Yeah, I'm hungry. But at least I have the free time during lunch to post this! Truly, I'd rather be eating. But my weight is slowly creeping up again and currently sits at a pant-tightening 208 1/2 when I'd like to be at a bone-revealing 180. Possibly this is my year that I get that level of self control. It is, after all, my year.
Ah to be twenty again and naturally thin with minimal effort! I can definitely understand how you would want to clean your plate when you are surrounded by so much incredible food, at home or on your many travels. Perhaps if you lived somewhere and were surrounded by mediocre food you would easily find the strength to quit eating even with food remaining?...
