Spammer's don't like to put their own address on their emails. Instead, they like to harvest other people's site randomly on the web and then when people like you and I hit "Reply", we will be replying to some poor sap completely unaffiliated with the spammer. This week, that poor sap is me.
I'm currently getting hundreds of bounced emails to addresses that no longer exist. The spam is directing people to go buy their medication at their pharmaceutical site. While this experience has been extremely annoying, it has also been educational. I'm surprised at how many actually reply to these addresses. I've had the usual "Please take me off your list" emails. I've had somebody asking to buy chronic from me instead of Viagra. And I've had three death threats from some genius who was smart enough to look up the owner of this web site, but not smart enough to know that email addresses can be spoofed.
So this entry is for you people out there who are trying to discover the person behind your spam and came here. This is a dead end. I've tried, too, and have called their 1-800 number which, of course, had a full mailbox. The best I can recommend is to find yourself a good spam filter and don't waste your time replying to spam.
So, how much Viagra have you sold?
(or are you still hoarding it all? ;p )
